A "hype vid" initiative showcasing The Mark, meant to act as a lighthearted, evergreen video encouraging new students to apply for years to come. With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing us all to work remotely, I had to find and present new ways of showcasing our fun-loving yet professionally minded environment. This brought me to typography-focused advertisements that usually target younger audiences like ours. All I needed was the perfect, upbeat track to set it to. This was my first time working in Adobe After Effects extensively for a full-length piece, and though I made many mistakes, I had a lot of fun.
The Mark is the only UChicago RSO dedicated to providing free marketing and advertising services to other RSOs and businesses in Chicago and across the country. We offer educational workshops so that students can approach marketing challenges with a useful set of analytical tools. Additionally, we organize site visits and host alumni speakers who offer insight into the marketing and advertising industries.
